Sympathy
The poem Sympathy is written by Paul Laurance Dunbar. Its about a caged bird which relate to slavery in the south. The mood in the poem is sad and angry. Quotes form the poem : " I know why the caged bird " , he wants the the reader to know that he too felt this way. " Till it's blood is red on the cruel bars " , the speaker seems to be getting angry because his image are getting more violent. Another quote is " Buta plea that upward to Heaven ", he flings caged birds seems very desparte to fling a prayer upward. My opinion from the store is about a bird that wants to be free from his cage and lives in genral , everybody dervies freedom.
